Scuba Fins

Without scuba fins, moving underwater would be considerably more difficult. As with shoes, it is recommended that several styles of fins be tried on in order to find the set that is more comfortable for you. In most cases, the fins are sold in either an open-heel or full-foot design.

There are different types of scuba fins for different diving scenarios. Some are designed for maneuverability, while others are designed for speed and/or power. However, for the average recreational diver, a set of fins that offer an even combination of these characteristics is usually recommended.

Comfort should be a high priority when shopping for a set of scuba fins. Uncomfortable fins can not only make a dive experience much less enjoyable, but much like a bad pair of shoes, they can cause blisters and sores on long dives.
